Union County

For I was hungry, and you gave Me food…whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did it for me.

Choosing to give my time to this wonderful organization was a natural fit for me. I have been blessed in my life and want to share that blessing with families in need. It saddens me that there are so many families within my own community who are struggling to get food on the table, especially at Thanksgiving time. I feel like it is my duty to serve them as I am able. Plus, I want to teach my children about serving others through actions, instead of just words. I look forward to seeing our chapter grow this year and in the future.

Jason Shaffer

Treasurer

I’m excited to be starting the Union County branch of the Byron Saunders Foundation.

I’m a retired Air Force officer and am currently working for Big Brown, otherwise known as UPS.  I got started volunteering at an early age, helping my mom deliver food to families with Meals on Wheels.  Currently I’m Chairman and also volunteer with the Union County Personal Needs Pantry where we provide household goods/items to families in need.  I look forward to volunteering for this wonderful organization.

Karen Williams

Co-Fundraising Chair

A native Ohioan, Karen fell in love with nonprofits when she started her first professional job at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie County some 30+ years ago.  Karen quickly develop a passion for charitable work and the resolve stuck with her through her years. Karen is currently working as a Business Development Manager with BMI Federal Credit Union and volunteers with the City of Dublin Police Department as a Community Service Officer. Karen and her family are happy spending their days keeping Ohio an amazing place to live, work and play.

“Sometimes it takes only one act of kindness and caring to change a person’s life”. No one should ever be without life’s essentials. Providing a Thanksgiving meal to a family who is struggling fulfills not only a physical need, but also provides love and caring when they need it the most.

I choose to be part of the Byron Saunders foundation to involve myself and my family in giving back to the community. Through hope, joy, and love we can all make a difference.

Jazzy Singh

Co-Marketing Chair

I feel blessed to support this foundation because of its cause; helping families celebrate and enjoy festive meals on Thanksgiving. I know many families go by without Thanksgiving celebrations because of financial hardships or struggles. Being a mom, I have always taught my kids to be compassionate and be helpful to others. I believe that we all are capable of bringing a smile or happiness to families in need. It doesn’t have to be a big contribution, as long as we all do a little something, it could make a big impact on someone in need. Being a Real Estate Consultant, I feel fortunate to give back to my community. I am also looking forward to my kids learning the joy of giving back and volunteering in this foundation and experiencing the “feel-good feeling” of helping families make happy memories who would otherwise have no Thanksgiving celebration. The Byron Saunders Foundation is allowing me to do my part of making a positive change. I am looking forward to creating awareness and promoting, engaging volunteers for the foundation and its causes. I am positive that the Byron Saunders Union Chapter will grow and bless many families in need of meals on Thanksgiving.

Dana Norrod

Co-Marketing Chair

I live in Dublin with my husband and two kids Corbin (8) and Lily (4).  I work as a non-profit Operations Manager at NC4K and with that it has provided opportunities to meet new people and opened my eyes to greater needs in our community. I have always had a desire to serve others and that passion has only been amplified through personal life experiences. I am blessed to serve and inspired by the generosity of others in the community.  The Byron Saunders Foundation is something I’ve become passionate about by seeing the reality that when each of us contribute just a little of our time and talents amazing and transformational things can happen for those in our community.
